Christmas 2017

Saturday 18th November saw the first hint of Christmas as the band played on their home turf at Kearsley Mount Methodist Church Christmas Fayre. On Saturday 25th November there was a concert of mixed music (though mostly Christmas Carols!) held at St. George's Church, Daisy Avenue, Farnworth. Audience participation was encouraged, and the band even took requests!
The evening of Tuesday 28th November saw KYBB play an evening of Christmas music alongside The Salvation Army Band in front of a packed audience from the local Brownies and the local community.
On the evening of Friday 1st December, the band played a series of mini Carol Concerts at several venues around Ringley and Prestolee. We started off playing a wide range of Christmas Music at the 'Christmas Light Switch On' in memory of Luke Whittaker. We then moved on to play traditional carols at 'The Grapes' for their Christmas Light Switch On event, where the band bumped into Santa and a couple of his Elves. We then 'gatecrashed' the Parishioners Christmas Party at Holy Trinity Church, Prestolee, where we did a 'requests session' and then finished off doing similar at 'La Roma' and 'The Horse Shoe'. All good fun on a freezing cold night!

We spent a whole day on the 3rd of December at Tesco, Walkden entertaining the shoppers and then that Thursday the 7th of December, the band performed at St Saviour's Church, Ringley for the W.I. Christmas Party. On Sunday the 10th of December, the band played in the afternoon at the Christmas Tree Farm near Spindle Point, Kearsley.
The evening of Friday 15th December had the band doing a grand tour of Clifton and Kearsley. Starting at the Golden Lion we then visited the Unity Brook, The Black Horse, La Roma and The Horse Shoe playing a selection of traditional Christmas Carols. We'd like to thank everyone for their support and wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas.
